Support Information

Since we are a non-profit organization we require the financial support of individuals, churches and businesses that have a heart for missions.  We would love for you to be a part of our team. Our vision is to reach the college campus, the marketplace and the world for Jesus. You can help make this happen by becoming a support team member today!

(Note for one-time donations - if you cannot donate on a regular monthly basis - no problem!  You can mail a check payable to Chi Alpha P.O. Box 3062 Thibodaux, LA.  70310 or click here to donate online).

First, you need to complete a Faith Promise Form (online or on paper) stating that you would like to support this ministry.  Fill out as much information on the form as you can and make sure to include our account number (212922 9) to make sure it goes to the right place.  Once you fill out this form, you will receive a packet in the mail from the U.S. Missions Department.  You can start giving with a check in the mail or online or with a re-occuring credit card payment .  Here are the two ways to fill out the Faith Promise Form:

  1. PAPER FORMPledge monthly support by mail. Download the Faith Promise Form.  Print the form and fill-in the necessary information. Return the form to the address provided on the form. Please make the check payable to Chi Alpha and include my account number on the memo line of your check (Account #2129229).
  2. ONLINE FORM: Fill out a Faith Promise Form online.(This is the fastest, easiest way to make a pledge - all you need is your information and our account number - 2129229).
Below are two methods of sending in a donation besides a check in the mail.
  1. Ongoing Monthly Credit Card Contribution. Download the credit card authorization form. Print the form and fill-in the necessary information including your signature. Then mail the form to the address provided on the form.
  2. Pay online with a credit card by clicking here.

Note:  When you click on the Faith Promise Form and the Credit Card Authorization Form you will be redirected to a download page on this site.  Please follow the simple directions on that page.  Also, I made it easy for you by putting my name and account number on each of the forms mentioned.

All donations are tax-deductible and you will be receipted after each contribution.

Thanks for helping us advance the Kingdom of God by joining our team! God Bless!

If you have any questions please email us or visit the U.S. Missions  website for frequently asked questions concerning your giving.

Questions and concerns about support raising

Can You Just Give Me a Quick Explanation?

There is a consistent principle taught in the Scriptures: ministers should be paid by the people of God. In this regard, there are two broad categories of ministers: pastors, who are paid by the local congregations they serve, and missionaries, who are paid by others than the ones they are ministering to.

Chi Alpha campus workers are missionaries. The reason for this is very simple: college students don’t have any money! In addition, the college scene in American is as pagan as any place on earth, so there are few who would be willing to pay Christian workers even if they did have the resources to do so.

For this reason, then, Chi Alpha campus workers are required to build a support team to aid them in their ministry. Part of that support is prayer, part of it is emotional support, and part of it is financial support. You are invited to become a partner today and have a share in the ministry that is Nicholls State Chi Alpha.

Why doesn’t the church pay you?

The church is paying us. The church is not a building; the church is people!

So, why doesn’t your denomination pay you a salary?

If the denomination salaries missionaries, the money has to come from somewhere–and that somewhere is the churches. Effectively, it becomes a tax on churches.

Historically, denominations that tax churches this way have very few missionaries–nobody likes to pay taxes, not even churches. Raising support by contacting friends and family is a far more effective strategy. Plus, it’s the Biblical method!

It’s a scalable system. Every new missionary is required to go and generate the funds necessary for their own ministry. No matter how many missionaries we have, we can always have more because there’s no fixed allotment that all the missionaries have to compete for.

Raising support requires that a minster build a network of relationships which keep him accountable and motivate him to work diligently. If you know that your best friend is paying part of your salary, you’re much less inclined to goof off.

Missionaries beget missionaries! Most missionaries become missionaries through contact with another missionary. Support-raising forces missionaries to develop relationships that ultimately result in the production of new missionaries.

Who oversees the finances?

We are accountable to Assemblies of God U.S. Missions. All finances are routed through them to provide financial oversight for missionaries.
