Purpose of Nicholls State Chi Alpha: Our ultimate desire is to serve the Nicholls State Community (faculty, staff and students) with spiritual and practical life development. We strive to help these individuals find authentic faith in Christ and grow in that relationship with Him. We aim to help our students, especially, to live a life of love and compassion while being a part of this community. We believe if these students, in particular, know Christ and take that knowledge into the marketplace after they graduate we can transform the world.
Our Vision: We will equip and empower this community to be R.E.A.L. - Relational with God and others through prayer and fellowship, Experience God through worship, Action through service and evangelism, and Learning by discipleship.
Opportunity: There are over 6000 students that attend Nicholls State University. Nearly 65% of the students that attend Nicholls have no religious preference. We must work together to reach them with the truth of Jesus - He is all the religion they will ever need! Among these students, over a hundred are considered International - God has brought the world to our own backyard! What a strategic opportunity to reach these students while in America and send them back to their own country discipled and on fire for the Lord!
Strategy: In order to be successful, we must consistently be guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit through worship, discipleship, fellowship, and evangelism all covered with prayer! We will accomplish this through LIFEgroups, prayer meetings, worship services, discipleship training, community service, compassions ministries and a variety of other activities geared towards service, increasing our faith and building community. Our major emphasis is the multiplication of our LIFE (or small) group ministry and consitent interaction with the campus community.
